So, you’re probably wondering what makes our ice so much better than regular bar ice? The answer is all in the way we clean our water before freezing.
Firstly, we run our water through a sediment filter and then a reverse osmosis system. By removing all the nasties that hide in our water ways; lead, pesticides, chlorine – we can ensure that only the cleanest, crispest water ends up in our freezers creating ice that won’t alter the taste of your drinks in anyway. It also removes minerals that may cause scale build up on your glasses.
Then, the water is run through a UV light filter which eliminates any bacteria or microorganisms that may live in the water so that the final product is as clean and pure as it possibly can be.
Once all this has been done, we fill our special freezers which will freeze the water from the bottom up over 3 days. A filter sits in the water to keep it circulating whilst it freezes, this aids the ice in freezing slowly and evenly, stopping any oxygen from being trapped inside. When oxygen has been trapped, the ice may appear white/cloudy or have many small bubbles. The problem with oxygen in your ice is that it compromises the integrity of the ice - on average it will cause your ice to melt 3 times quicker than our clear ice.
We put in a lot of time and effort to make sure we are providing the best cuts and the best quality of ice for your customers enjoyment. Not only visually stunning in a glass but also practical in allowing drinks to be enjoyed exactly how you intended them to be.
